Weekly Newsletter

Hello PKN

This week is very short because we have the thanksgiving break. I wish you all a happy thanksgiving. Yesterday the children made turkeys out of construction paper and most of our PKN children said that they are very thankful for their moms, dads and teachers... We are teaching our kids to use polite words such as "thank you", "please" and "sorry! Are you Ok?" PKN children are doing excellent job. Here are some pictures:





In math we are introducing number 10, the kids are counting up to ten, they are making groups of ten objects and they also tried to trace number 10 on their white boards.











That's all for now. I wish you all a restful break.
Just a reminder that tomorrow Wednesday November 26th there will be no lunch at school. Your child will eat lunch at home when we dismiss at 12.30pm.

PKN Weekly Newsletter

Hello PKN

This week our PKN children are learning to say the sound of letter Ii and they are also learning to name letter Ii for Impy Ink. The children are learning new words such as iguana, insects, invitations....
Here are some pictures of letter Ii activities that we are doing this week:









In Math we are learning how to count up to number 9, how to make sets of nine objects and also recognize and trace number 9. We will also learn about Day and Night. Here are some pictures:




In science we started a new unit called " How things work". The children will learn how cars, trains or windmills work. We started by looking of different materials the toys can be made of: The PKN children are learning new words such as metal, fabric, wood and plastic. The children are excited about this unit and they started bringing different toys and talking about what materials the toys are made of. Great job PKN. Have a look at the pictures:

On Friday November 21st we will have our second PK assembly in the PK MPR at 10.40. Please try to attend since the PK children will be singing and performing. See you there!!!

Good Morning PKN parents

Dear PN parents

Next week in science we starting a new unit called “ How things work”. The children will be learning about different materials the toys are made of. We will learn about fabric, Metal, plastic and wood. We are asking your child to bring a toy from home to share and talk about it. Toys should be in the classroom no later than Thursday Nov 20th. 
NB: Please note that we will take of your child’s toy until he/she will bring it back home.
Here are some samples of toys:

Wood: blocks, wooden trains…
Fabric: dolls, puppets…
Metal: cars, trains…
Plastic: pieces of Lego, plastic animals….

PKN Weekly Newsletter

Hello PKN

This week the children are learning to recognize and say the sound of letter Hh for Harry Hat Man. They are singing the letterland alphabet song, saying its sound and tracing Hh on different worksheets. The children are also thinking of words beginning with Hh and sharing them with their friends. We also made very cute hats in the classroom. Here are some pictures:






 In math the children are learning number 8 and they are also trying to make sets of 8 objects. PKN children are trying to write number eight using play dough, colored crayons, felted pens and pencils. PKN are also learning new words such empty and full.Have a look at these pictures:








In social studies we are still working on same but different unit. We are now learning to know more about our school community. The children are learning about the library's role in the school, the lunch coordinator role and also other people taking care of our school. PKN are learning that we are all the same, we are human being but we have different jobs and role. Here are some pictures:















It is a very busy week and the children have learned many new things and also have had lots of fun.
