PKN Weekly Newsletter

Hello PKN

In PKN, the students are learning to name, sound out and trace the Oo for Oscar Orange. The students started thinking of words beginning with Oo such as Octopus, Olives, Oil....
Here are the pictures:









In science are learning about the state of water and how water changes form liquid to gas or from liquid to ice. The students are learning new words such evaporation, gas, ice...
So we boiled water and found out that water evaporates when it gets very hot. We also put water in the freezer and the following day we found that water turned into ice. Here are the pictures:





In math, we are introducing graphing. What is graphing? The students are learning to collect information and count. We made a color graph to find out what is the PKN's favorite color? We also made a sea creatures graph to see what is the favorite sea creature in PKN? The children enjoyed the graphs and here are the pictures:




I would like you to invite you all to our PK Assembly on March 4th at 8.10 in the small gym. Please be there on time. The children will be performing different songs.

PK News

Hello PKN

This week in PKN class we are reviewing letters from Jj to Nn. We are learning to write and say the sounds of these letters. I can see lots of progress in recognizing the letters. Here are some pictures:







 In math, we are learning how to count from 1 to 10, how to put the numbers in order, how to read the numbers.... Later in the week we will introduce graphing to the children, they will learn how to collect information and data. Here are the photos:






Please note that today is the Science Exhibition in the small gym. Come and look at our lovely toys invented by the PK children.

PKN Weekly Newsletter

Hello PKN

We started a science unit with our PK students and it is called Water. The students are wondering, thinking where does water come form?? where can we find water?? who needs water?? what if we don't have water?? Everyday the students are learning new words such as stream, river, ocean, pebbles, sand, rocks.... One of our water projects with the PKN students is to make a river. The students thought about all the things we need to get from the classroom in order to make a river. Here is the result of their work:












Our letter of the week is Nn for Noisy Nick. The students are learning to name the letter, say the sound and trace it using different materials. Here are some pictures:

PKN Weekly Newsletter

Hello PKN

This week PKN are learning to name, sound out and trace letter Mm for Munching Mike. They are working on different projects such as making monsters (M is for Monster), writing Mm with oil pastel crayons, making Mm with play dough and matching M words with pictures. In science we are working on our Water Unit. The children are learning about water, where does water come from? where can we find water? Who needs water?
