We Love to Read Week

Hello Bouncy Bens

This week is We Love To Read week at ACST. As part of this week where we focus on reading there are two special events that we are going to participate in with Elementary classes.

Thursday 3^rd April: Pajama Day

On Thursday Elementary student will attend school wearing their pajamas.

§  For Pre-School this activity is optional. We would like the children to wear their normal clothes to school and if they would like to, they can change into their pajamas at Chill Out Time. This will be a fun time for the children to read stories and relax in their comfy pajamas.

Friday 4^th April: Book Character Dress Up Day

§  Also an optional activity.

For Pre-School the children should wear their normal clothes to school. They can bring a costume to represent a book that they like to read and we will help them to change into it.  If your child does not have a costume, we have plenty of dress ups at school that they can choose from. We will have a Book Character Parade at our Pre-School Assembly 12pm on Friday.

Remember you are welcome to go to the Multi-Purpose room between now and Friday to buy books for your child.

Next week is a school holiday for Spring Break. School will resume on Monday 14^th April.

Hello Bouncy Bens

This week we introduced our fourth Inquiry unit " Caring for our world": Animals. We started by looking at creatures that live in ponds. It was a great connection with our previous unit: Water and the children were talking about fish and turtles living in ponds....
The children were so engaged in the activity and looked at lots of pictures about life in ponds such as frogs, tadpoles, dragonflies, water lilies, ripples, reeds, pond skater...
The children are learning lots of new words in this unit. Here are some pictures of the Bouncy Bens working on our new unit:

Today we had a lovely field trip to the Fish Aquarium. The children enjoyed it and they were very engaged and focused while working on their activity book (Aquarium field trip book). Well done PK. Here are the pictures of the field trip:

Hello Bouncy Bens

The children are learning about sea creatures this week as part of our inquiry unit: Water. They learnt about Jelly fish, Octopus, Sharks, Star fish, Sea turtles... The children learnt lots of new words in our water unit. Bouncy Bens are so excited about our trip to the fish aquarium tomorrow.
Before we go to the trip we decided to make our own aquarium in the classroom. Bouncy Bens did a fabulous job. Here are the pictures:
