Hello PKN parents
We are reviewing numbers from 1 to 10 using different materials such as manipulatives, counting mats, white boards, play dough mats and also using our fingers when we count. During the break you can practice with your child counting. You can ask your child how many fingers you have? How many are we in the family, can you count the toys you have in your room..... Here are some pictures of our math session:
In PKN we are also reviewing letters. The children are naming the letter and saying its sound. They are forming the letters using pencils, oil pastel crayons, play dough... We are singing the letterland alphabet songs. PKN enjoy our literacy time and here are some photos:
In science the children are working on how things work unit. We are focusing on toys. We talked about wheels and batteries. They are learning that batteries give power to the toys... They also learnt about floating and sinking boats. Here are some pictures:
That'a all for now. See you all on Friday at 10.30 for our winter celebration in the classroom. I wish you all happy vacation and safe travels. Happy New Year 2015!!!!
